Coffee was first planted in the early 1700’s close to the border of Suriname and French Guinea, then spread gradually south to Rio de Janeiro, and south towards Sao Paulo, Espirito Santo, Parana and Minas Gerais.
Most of Brazils coffee is unwashed or sun-dried, and beans are classified by the name of the state in which they are produced and the port through which they were shipped.

‘Strictly Soft’ in cup Brazils are known for their smooth, mild character and low acidity.
